Spokane County Fire District No. 12
MEETING MINUTES
For April 12, 2017
I. CALL TO ORDER: Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Gregg Wernz, Charlie Johnson and Tom Pottratz. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary and Don Evans, Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the March 9, 2017, commissioner meeting were presented. Charlie Johnson made a motion to approve the March 9, 2017, commissioner meeting minutes as presented. Gregg Wernz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF: Don Evans reported:~the engine at Waverly failed to start, so they found a compartment that was open and fixed it.~got the registration transferred for the new rescue rig from District 2. It will be called 12-3.~found a new program that creates a map of the hydrants.~has written a few burn permits and found a non-ag permit that he has written.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
A. LATAH CAPTAIN: Browning reported she hasn't heard back from the auditor whether Charlie Johnson can remain the captain and be a commissioner.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. LIGHTS FOR FIRE STATION: Tom Pottratz made a motion to hire Todd Gabbard to put the lights into the fire station. Charlie Johnson seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
There was discussion about attending training and the commissioners asked to have the training approved ahead of time with a list of anticipated expenditures to approved at a commissioner meeting before the training can be scheduled.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 22008 through 22010 totaling $464.72 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Tom Pottratz made a motion to approve the April bills as presented. Charlie Johnson seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Charlie Johnson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:58 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
