MEETING MINUTES
For January 12, 2017
I. CALL TO ORDER: Ron Tee called the meeting to order at 7:10 p.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Ron Tee and Tom Pottratz. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary and Don Evans, Fire Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the December 8, 2016, commissioner meeting were presented. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the December 8, 2016, commissioner meeting minutes presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
~There have been less calls lately.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
A. APPROVE POLICY FOR NUMBER OF MEETINGS FOR FIREMEN TO ATTEND: Browning presented the updated policy manual requiring firemen to attend six trainings a year in order for the department to pay the pension. We will send letters to the firemen that did not attend six meetings in 2016 and tell them they will have to pay the pension themselves if they want it.
B. FIRE DINNER: It was decided to have the fire dinner on Thursday, February 23, 2017, at C & D's in Tekoa at 7:00 p.m.
VI. NEW BUSINESS: There was none.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: December 31, 2016 payroll voucher numbers 21961 through 21987 totaling $1,961.72 and voucher numbers 21988 through 21991 totaling $454.31 and January 12, 2017 voucher numbers 21992 and 21993 totaling $2,133.66 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:42 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
