Spokane County Fire District No.12 MEETING MINUTES For January 9, 2020
I. CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Jim Carlson called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. Commissioners present were Carlson, Dave Krell and Tom Pottratz. Kynda Browning, Secretary, Debbie Roberts, EMS Director, Josh Evans, Fire Chief, and Captain, Alex Fuchs were also in attendance.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: Tom Pottratz made a motion to approve the minutes from the December 12, 2019, meeting as presented. Dave Krell seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There was none.
IV. COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE: There was none.
V. REPORTS FROM STAFF: Josh Evans reported: ~Six calls in December. ~Got all the new airpacks on the trucks. ~Eric Olsen is starting a new training class for structure firefighter I and II. Kurt Schafer and Logan Billington are taking the class.
Debbie Roberts said our AED's are expiring and we will need to replace them, she will look into replacing them.
VI. OLD BUSINESS:
A. FREE FROM NIFRS OR PURCHASE FIRE AND EMS PACKAGE: Josh Evans said he has a call into the State Fire Chiefs Association to ask about what is required to be reported outside our district to the state and national office. He is still waiting to get information.
B. TABLETS: Debbie Roberts said we need to figure out what program we will be using before we purchase the tablets. They discussed using a laptop instead of a tablet.
They talked about storing things in the cloud instead of having hard copies for everything.
C. FIRE DINNER: The commissioners said February 13 would work for the fire dinner. Nordic Smoke will serve the dinner at the Latah Community Center. They will hold the commissioner meeting at 6:00 p.m. and the dinner will be at 6:30 p.m.
VII. NEW BUSINESS:
A. FUEL CARDS: After discussion the commissioners decided to keep using the visa to purchase fuel.
Josh Evans told the commissioners we still need turnouts for ten firemen, at a cost of $2000.00 per set, because the turnouts are expiring this year. After discussion, the commissioners approved ordering six turnouts this year.
There was discussion about the fuel tank and it was decided to have Josh Evans advertise it again.
VIII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Tom Pottratz made a motion to pay December 31, 2019 payroll vouchers 22373 to 22378 for $1,309.22 and vouchers 22379 to 22381 for $14,288.39 and January 2020 vouchers 22382 and 22383 for $2,809.78. Dave Krell seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
IX. COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE: There were none.
X. ADJOURNMENT: Dave Krell made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 6:50 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
