Commissioner Meeting Minutes
For November 14, 2019
I. CALL TO ORDER: Commissioner Jim Carlson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Commissioners present were Carlson, Dave Krell and Tom Pottratz. Kynda Browning, Secretary and Fire Chief, Josh Evans was also in attendance.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: Tom Pottratz made a motion to approve the minutes from the October 8, 2019, meeting as presented. David Krell seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: Browning reported we had a clean audit. She also reported we received a bid from AWC RMSA for insurance.
IV. COMMENTS FROM THE AUDIENCE: There was none.
V. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Josh Evans reported there were 18 calls in October.
He took the pumper tender 12-1 to have it pump tested. The test was good.
He talked about a captain for Waverly and talked about finding an EMS Director position. There was discussion about wages for the different positions and a new program to keep track of calls and personnel. He will get a price for it. There was discussion about tablets for the truck. They also talked about paying someone to do the record keeping for the district calls and training. They will discuss this further at the December meeting.
VI. OLD BUSINESS: There was none.
VII. NEW BUSINESS:
A. 2020 TAX LEVY RATE RESOLUTION: Jim Carlson made a motion to approve the tax levy resolution no. 19-01 with a 1% increase for 2020 and the EMS tax levy resolution no. 19-02 with a 1% increase for 2020.
B. COMMISSIONER RATE INCREASE FROM $114 TO $128: Browning reported that the commissioner rate increased from $114 to $128 per meeting in 2019.
VIII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Dave Krell made a motion to pay payroll vouchers 22330 to 22355 for $11,484.77 and vouchers 22356 to 22362 for $3,662.73. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
IX. COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE: There were none.
X. ADJOURNMENT: Jim Carlson made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:27.p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
