Spokane County Fire District No. 12
MEETING MINUTES
For April 9, 2013
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. at the Waverly Town Hall.
Commissioners present at the meeting were: Wernz, Tom Pottratz and Ron Tee. Also present was Kynda Browning,
Secretary, and Don Evans, Fire Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the March 12, 2013 commissioner meeting were presented. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the March 12, 2013 minutes. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF: Don Evans talked to the commissioners about purchasing a generator and a rescue saw. He also told the commissioners that he will need to purchase some equipment for some of the firefighters that
will not fit into the turnouts that we have.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
A. FIRE STATION: There was no discussion.
B. SCBA REGULATIONS: Don Evans reported that the new regulations do not apply to our district.
Gregg Wernz asked about badges. Don Evans said he hasn’t ordered them yet.
Tom Pottratz asked if we can burn some lots in Latah for training. Don Evans will check into the legality of it.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. RESCUE SAWS: They will get one to try out before they decide whether to purchase it or not.
B. TURNOUTS: This was discussed earlier.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21492 through 21494 totaling $464.89 and voucher numbers 21487 through 21491 totaling $1,220.54 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the vouchers as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:02 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
