Spokane County Fire District No. 12
MEETING MINUTES
For January 13, 2015
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Wernz, Ron Tee and Tom Pottratz. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary and Don Evans, Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the December 8, 2014, commissioner meeting were presented. Tom Pottratz made a motion to approve the December 8, 2014, commissioner meeting minutes as presented. Ron Tee seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
Ron Tee made a motion to re-appoint Gregg Wernz as the chairman for 2015. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
-Replaced parts for the brush rig and the parts for the tender. Brush 12-1 was repaired. Tender 12-2 - got parts for it, but it continues to get plugged.
-Attendance at drills has been light, but turn-out for calls has been good.
-The firefighters did a good job getting the chimney fire out in Latah.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
A. SLIP TANK TO FUEL TRUCKS: There was discussion. Got bids from St. John Hardware, General Fire and Melton Fabrication. Gregg Wernz made a motion to accept the low bid from Melton Fabrication for $5,363.05 and possibly more if we have to add tax. Ron Tee seconded the motion; all council members voted yes.
B. FIREFIGHTER DINNER: After discussion it was decided to have the fireman appreciation dinner at
C & D's in Tekoa on February 11.
VI. NEW BUSINESS: There was none.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21695 through 21697 totaling $473.97 and voucher numbers 21698, 21699, 21700 and 21704 totaling $1,742.37 were presented for 2014 and vouchers 21701 through 21703 for 1,666.68 for 2015 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the vouchers as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 a.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
