Spokane County Fire District No. 12 MEETING MINUTES For December 10, 2015
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Ron Tee called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Tee, and Tom Pottratz. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary; Don Evans, Chief; and Cindy Carlson, EMS Director.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the, November 12, 2015, commissioner meeting were presented. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the November 12, 2015, commissioner meeting minutes presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
EMT's signed up Josh Evans, Reid Evans, Tabitha Gale and Alex Miller for the EMT class in Fairfield. They have to get their vaccinations up to date by the time they finish the class. The fire district will pay for it. It will run from December 14 through the middle of March.
Rescue 12-2 - the rotating mechanism is not working properly. Used an old light bar from one in Latah.
Alternator fell off of the rescue rig. Josh Evans fixed it in Fairfield.
Inland Pump is working on brush 12-2 it this week.
He talked about the house fire in Fairfield.
He showed the commissioners a picture of a fire station at Williams Lake.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
A. AIR PACKS: Talked to people at General Fire and he got prices on bottles. Aluminum bottles have an unlimited life time. The other carbon fiber bottles have a 15 year life. We are trying to purchase used ones, Don Evans is waiting to hear if General Fire can help us find some. Dalmation has some used air packs that are 1992 spec. They are $675 each.
B. DINNER FOR FIREMEN: Browning reported that it will be held on January 20, 2016 at Zythum Brewery. She has not gotten ahold of Toby's BBQ yet.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. 2016 FINAL BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING: Ron Tee opened the public hearing for the 2016 final budget. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the 2016 budget as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; the commissioners voted yes.
B. 2015 BUDGET AMENDMENT PUBLIC HEARING IF NEEDED: Browning asked that the commissioners amend the expenditures for the EMS budget to $40,000.00. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the 2015 EMS budget amendment changing it to $40,000.00. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21812 and 21819 through 21822 totaling $5,288.30 and voucher numbers 21813 through 21818 totaling $7,345.07 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:31 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
