Spokane County Fire District No. 12
MEETING MINUTES
For October 13, 2016
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Gregg Wernz, Tom Pottratz and Ron Tee. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary and Don Evans, Fire Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the, September 15, 2016, commissioner meeting were presented. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the September 15, 2016, commissioner meeting minutes presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
~We got money from DNR for the fire truck and the people who helped.
~Had the state surveying and rating bureau survey yesterday. He said it went well. A new requirement that
you must do a pumper test. He is looking into where he can have it done.
~Typical medical responses.
~Eric Olsen is starting a program to go through the entire firefighter one training.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
There was none.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2017 TAX LEVY RATE: Gregg Wernz opened the public hearing. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the 1% increase for the regular levy. Gregg Wernz seconded the motion; Tom Pottratz voted no. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the 1% increase for the EMS levy. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes. Gregg Wernz closed the public hearing.
District 2 has been talking to Don Evans about the discrepancy with our guys responding to the calls there. They are trying to work something out.
B. PUBLIC HEARING FOR 2017 PRELIMINARY BUDGET: Gregg Wernz opened the public hearing. The commissioners looked at the 2017 budget. Gregg Wernz closed the public hearing.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21906 through 21908 totaling $464.75 and voucher numbers 21909 through 21915 totaling $1,492.70 totaling $1,492.70 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:17 a.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
