Spokane County Fire District No. 12
MEETING MINUTES
For October 14, 2015
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Wernz, Tom Pottratz and Ron Tee. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary; Don Evans, Chief; and Cindy Carlson, EMS Director.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the September 10, 2015, commissioner meeting were presented. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the September 10, 2015, commissioner meeting minutes presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
~Put new carb kit on tender 12-2, but the muffler is close to it, so he had to order a new muffler and guard.
~Brush 12-2 won't hold a prime - it is sucking air somewhere, so it will have to be looked at. Brush 12-3 has been moved to Waverly.
~Scott Haymond has all his information in to be a fireman. Don Evans will check to see if he had his physical.
~Fairfield is trying to put on an EMT class, but they are short on the number needed to have the class.
~Had a good turn out for the drill in Latah.
~Had a response for a field burn in Latah. There was discussion about the protocol.
V .OLD BUSINESS:
A. AIR PACKS: They haven't called Don Evans back yet.
B. COMPENSATION FOR EMT CERTIFICATION: They will make a decision at the next meeting.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. 2016 PRELIMINARY BUDGET PUBLIC HEARING: Gregg Wernz opened the public hearing. Browning went over the proposed 2016 preliminary budget with the commissioners.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21760 through 21762 totaling $464.52 and voucher numbers 21763 through 21769 totaling $3,373.25 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the bills as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:03 p.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
