Spokane County Fire District No. 12 MEETING MINUTES For September 18, 2013
I. CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Gregg Wernz called the meeting to order at 7:00 a.m. at the Waverly Town Hall. Commissioners present at the meeting were: Wernz, Tom Pottratz and Ron Tee. Also present was Kynda Browning, Secretary, and Don Evans, Fire Chief.
II. APPROVAL OF PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES: The minutes from the June 11, 2013 commissioner meeting were presented. The July and August meetings were not held. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the June 11, 2013, commissioner meeting minutes as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
III. PRESENTATION OF PETITIONS, APPLICATIONS, APPEALS, COMMUNICATIONS, ETC: There were none.
IV. REPORTS FROM STAFF:
Don Evans reported:
-Radio update – he thinks they should keep the old radios and use the new ones too.
-Still haven’t scheduled them for hookup.
-Intercoms hooked up in two of the brush trucks.
-Reprogramming the radios –Industrial said it would cost $325.00 to have them come out and reprogram them. You can buy a program and cable for $60.00. He will buy the software instead of having Industrial come and do it.
-He got a bid from Sigtronics for Brush 12-3 doesn’t have an intercom. He got a bid for $1328.00. He called Firetron He will call Don’s General Store for a third bid. The commissioners asked him to order it from the company with the lowest bid.
-The last group of pagers don’t have the all call working right. He will look into a program to reprogram them.
-The generator is in and the rescue saw is set up.
-He gave the commissioners ID’s for the district to use.
-He will be taking the fire truck to Latah Day on October 5.
-He took the remote control from the tender and the nozzle is not working correctly. General Fire sent it back to the manufacturer.
-He got some used file cabinets to organize stuff.
-He will be changing the calls so that both stations are paged.
V. OLD BUSINESS:
There was none.
VI. NEW BUSINESS:
A. BURN PERMITS: Gregg Wernz said the 10-acre burn permits are only for farmers and it is not for the
whole field. You must file a schedule F in order to be eligible.
B. AUDIT: Browning reported that we will have to change some of our procedures. She will have a list for the
October meeting.
VII. PRESENTATION OF VOUCHERS, WARRANTS, FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND REPORTS: Payroll voucher numbers 21532 through 21533 totaling $456.38 and voucher numbers 21534 through 21535 totaling $975.40 were presented to the Commissioners for approval. Ron Tee made a motion to approve the vouchers as presented. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes. Ron Tee made a motion to approve payroll voucher numbers 21515 through 21517 for $535.56 and 21521 through 21522 for $456.38 and voucher numbers 21517 through 21520 for $535.56 and 21523 through 21531 for $11,829.75 from the July and August meetings that were not held. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
VIII. ADJOURNMENT: Ron Tee made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:30 a.m. Tom Pottratz seconded the motion; all commissioners voted yes.
